Lead engineer

At ACE’s Delft office, we are looking for a new Lead Engineer with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering. In this role, you will work on challenging projects every day and collaborate closely with your team. The team will ultimately consist of around five ACE engineers. During projects, the ACE team will regularly work closely and often intensively with engineers on the client’s side. Do you have the right experience and are you ready to take on this challenge? What will you do?

• Take responsibility as Lead Engineer within challenging mechanical and/or electrical engineering projects
• Provide technical direction and ensure projects are successfully guided from design through to implementation
• Work daily with a team of around five ACE engineers, acting as the main technical point of contact
• Collaborate closely with engineers on the client’s side, with a strong focus on coordination and technical substantiation
• Make technical assessments and translate them clearly into a well-supported solution
• Safeguard technical quality, coherence and progress within projects
• Actively contribute to constructive collaboration between internal and external stakeholders
• Work from ACE Delft in an environment centred on engineering, collaboration and development

What do you bring?

• A completed university or university of applied sciences degree, for example in Mechanical Engineering
• At least five years’ experience as an engineer in a complex technical environment, such as electromechanical, mechanical or electrical engineering
• The ability to think across disciplines and interpret technical issues from an integrated perspective
• Experience with 3D CAD systems such as NX and/or the electrical engineering software EPLAN, as well as demonstrable experience with larger mechanical structures, including routing, piping and P&IDs
• Experience in breaking down specifications and activities and translating them into a concrete, feasible approach
• The ability to estimate the required hours for each project phase; this is an essential part of the role
• The ability to make sound technical decisions in an environment with many stakeholders and to bring both technical and non-technical stakeholders along in the chosen direction
• A visible and dependable presence within projects; colleagues can rely on you and know when to turn to you
• A proactive attitude towards supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge and learning from the expertise of others
• Willingness to work from ACE Delft two to three days per week and Haarlem two to three days per week
